Suzanne McErlain – Innkeeper

To Suzanne, hospitality means making someone feel welcome and going that extra little step to make their stay enjoyable.  If you walk into Inn BoonsBoro a stranger, you won't be one for long.

A native of Philadelphia, Suzanne studied hotel/restaurant management and used that training for 14 years at Knickers Restaurant & Pub, her family's Bucks County, PA, restaurant.  "I bussed tables, tended bar, managed the place--and everything in between!"

The opportunity of Inn BoonsBoro arose out of a friendship with author Nora Roberts.  Always an avid reader, Suzanne has traveled to Boonsboro three to four times a year since 2002 to meet with other readers and authors at Turn the Page Bookstore events.  When work on Inn BoonsBoro got underway, Suzanne, a member of the Professional Association of Innkeepers International (PAII), approached Nora about being part of the project.

Nora knew immediately that Suzanne would be the perfect match for her vision of Inn BoonsBoro and did not hesitate in hiring her.  "When Suz asked me about the position, my first thought was: Yes. Perfect!” Nora continued. "Here's a woman I know who has the personality and the skills to be a wonderful innkeeper, who appreciates Boonsboro and wants to be a part of the town."

Suzanne looks forward to the future when she sees Inn BoonsBoro bringing more tourism to the area, which in turn, will bring more to the community.  “People coming to stay at Inn BoonsBoro will go out to eat in local restaurants and they will visit the shops along Main Street,” said Suzanne recently.

She knows that the residents of Boonsboro are curious as well.  “The town has seen this wonderfully old historic building go through so many proprietors and changes over the years.  I have heard from several people who live either in Boonsboro or the surrounding areas that they hope to stay at the inn ‘just to experience it,’” she explained. “And that's what I want.  I want people to have a wonderful & unique experience at Inn BoonsBoro; whether they're traveling 500 miles or five.”

Patti Reddecliff – Assistant Innkeeper

Being part of the Inn Boonsboro team brings Patti back to the "family tradition" of working in the hospitality industry.  Her husband, Bill, manages a hotel in Frederick, Maryland while her son is an innkeeper in Arkansas.

Patti has worked at Turn the Page Bookstore and Cafe, a tourist draw in its own right, for the past three years.
